When idly entertaining one’s self with these magnets, they sometimes seem to have a mind of their own, probably because of the unique shape relative to their axis of magnetization. Most magnets have no trouble ‘deciding’ which resting position they enjoy most, and quickly adopt it. These magnets, however, seem more indecisive.
They can be used where depth is desired and stacking of smaller magnets is not. This is also the type of magnet used unwisely as jewellery in specific youtube videos.
It should be noted that the larger rod magnets have inconsistently formed ends, so they stack at odd angles relative to each other.
