Disc magnets are the most popular magnet among woodworkers, hobbyists and engineers alike. These magnets have hundreds of uses; many of which revolve around the need for a strong fastener that won’t mar surfaces, is reversible and requires little setup time.
They are quickly and cleanly installed into wooden surfaces using a forstner bit and glue (epoxy works best) and their cylindrical shape makes them resistant to accidental chipping.
